Hurricane Katrina

It's almost incomprehensible how such an oasis of disaster can exist in a place that, for many, is only a few hours away, either by car or plane. Not to politicize this, but there seems to be a widening gap between what is being said is being done and what is actually being done. I don't think that any administration would purposely let so so many people suffer, so I don't understand the seeming ineptitude of our government's response.
