All my smart-ass comments over the months (as well as those by others) seem totally irrelevant right now. Tragedy is something that is personally defined and while I know that there are many, many more important things in the world, I am hurting to the core.

I had to unexpectedly put my 8-year old cat, Pearl, to sleep today. Everything happened all once and all I can say is that you either understand or you don't. She will be missed in this household forever.
