Barbara Bush shows her humanity

At first I thought that what I heard couldn't be true. Surely Barbara Bush, regardless of her true feelings, would not be stupid enough to say on the air that "... so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this is working very well for them." Surely she would not say "What I’m hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas." But, she did; I heard the audio.

Apparently, she believes so deeply that the underprivileged do not have the same desire for stability, do not mourn the loss of their loved ones, do not experience fear, do not have the same need for safety, privacy, sanitation and dignity as the privileged that she was able to say this with complete candor and innocence. Though I wasn't a big fan of George H., I'm beginning to believe that he is the only honorable person in the family.

I thought I'd heard all the craziness until I read this...a friend of mine in the UK had asked me if I thought it was true that George Jr. was a racist. I told him that I think Bush doesn't think he is a racist, but is too rich and removed from the truth-- that he can't identify with what is happening. This seems to be a family trait.
